Will illegal parking result in demerit points?

Parking or temporarily stopping a vehicle in a location with no-parking signs or markings will result in a deduction of 3 points. If a commercial passenger vehicle is parked in a highway lane, it will result in a 12-point deduction. If a non-commercial passenger vehicle is parked in a highway lane, it will result in a 6-point deduction. If the parking violation does not fall under the above categories, no points will be deducted. The details of vehicle violations are as follows: Vehicle Violations: Vehicle violations refer to any act where a motor vehicle violates the Road Traffic Safety Law or traffic management regulations. Penalties for vehicle violations include warnings, fines (vehicle impoundment), temporary suspension of the driver's license, revocation of the driver's license, cancellation of the driver's license, administrative detention, and criminal liability for acts constituting a crime. Driver's License Demerit Points: If a motor vehicle driver accumulates fewer than 12 demerit points within a scoring cycle and has paid all fines, the points will be cleared. If the points are fewer than 12 but there are unpaid fines, the points will carry over to the next scoring cycle.
