Will Full Throttle Cause Engine Seizure?

Stepping on the throttle fully for a short period will not cause engine seizure. However, if the engine has been used for an extended time, the load on the engine will be relatively high, leading to a sharp rise in temperature inside the cylinders and increased pressure, which can easily result in engine seizure. Principle of Engine Seizure: Engine seizure occurs when the car's tachometer enters the red zone. Due to excessive temperature, the piston expands and gets stuck in the cylinder, causing the engine to fail. In severe cases, when the pressure is too high and the piston cannot move, it can lead to the vehicle's wheels locking up, resulting in flames shooting out. Methods to Prevent Engine Seizure: The quickest and most effective way to suppress engine knocking is to retard the ignition timing, thereby reducing combustion pressure. Therefore, the working principle of a knock sensor is to delay the ignition timing to a point where knocking does not occur when engine knocking is detected. Once the engine stops knocking, the ignition timing is gradually restored.
