Will Factory Exhaust Sound Be Fined by Traffic Police?

Factory exhaust sound will not be fined by traffic police. Unauthorized vehicle modifications are illegal, including illegally modifying exhaust pipes or altering the vehicle's appearance and registered technical data. China's "Road Traffic Safety Law" explicitly prohibits any unit or individual from assembling motor vehicles or altering their registered structure, construction, or features without authorization. Vehicle structure includes body color, length, width, height (four rigid standards), as well as engine and related technical parameters. Precautions for vehicle modifications: 1. Exterior modifications: The installation of exterior parts must ensure they do not harm pedestrians during use and must not exceed a certain proportion of the vehicle's dimensions. Replacing the front bumper is acceptable, but adding exterior components (such as spoilers) or raising the chassis to enhance off-road performance is not permitted. 2. Lighting modifications: All lighting parameters must strictly comply with national regulations. Adding LED or xenon lights is not allowed. Xenon lights, with an illumination approximately twice that of sunlight, can cause drivers to reflexively close their eyes at night, potentially leading to accidents. 3. Powertrain modifications: Only engines identical to the factory original can be installed. The vehicle owner must apply for a modification registration with the vehicle management office within 10 days of the change. Converting a single exhaust pipe to dual pipes or installing large-diameter exhaust pipes with loud sounds constitutes illegal modification. 4. Interior modifications: In principle, interior modifications are allowed if they do not affect driving safety. However, seats cannot be removed, the interior structure cannot be altered, and the structural features registered with the vehicle management office cannot be changed without authorization.
