Will Changing Tires and Rims Affect the Tire Pressure Monitoring System?

Changing tires and rims will not affect the tire pressure monitoring system because the sensors of the tire pressure monitor are placed on the rims. During replacement, you only need to pay attention to the tire pressure monitor sensors and perform a tire pressure reset after the replacement is completed. For a direct tire pressure monitoring system, the pressure sensors should be removed and reinstalled on the new rims when changing the rims. An indirect tire pressure monitoring system can directly replace the rims without being affected. A composite TPMS is similar to a direct tire pressure monitoring system, requiring the removal of corresponding accessories from the rims. The method for resetting the tire pressure is as follows: First, turn on the ignition switch, press and hold the tire pressure monitoring reset button until you hear a "ding" sound, then release it. The tire pressure monitoring system will store the current normal tire pressure data, automatically clear the original data, and finally, the fault light on the dashboard will turn off, indicating the tire pressure reset is complete.
