Changing spark plugs can save fuel. A spark plug made of better quality materials can indeed reduce fuel consumption, enhance power, and achieve the goal of fuel efficiency. Automotive spark plugs have two main functions: 1. Generate sparks to ignite the air-fuel mixture and produce power; 2. Seal the spark plug hole to maintain cylinder pressure. The basic conditions for a high-performance automotive engine are high-energy stable sparks, a uniformly mixed air-fuel mixture, and a high compression ratio, highlighting the importance of spark plugs. Typically, the high voltage supplied to the spark plug from the ignition coil through the distributor and wires is about 20,000 to 30,000 volts. Additionally, the spark plug electrodes must constantly endure the high-temperature environment of the combustion chamber and pressures over 45 times atmospheric pressure while maintaining excellent airtightness. Therefore, in such harsh conditions, the quality and durability of spark plugs will directly affect engine performance.
