Changing lanes that affects other vehicles will result in a fine but no penalty points. According to Article 90 of the 'Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China,' motor vehicle drivers who violate road traffic safety laws and regulations regarding road passage will be given a warning or fined. If changing lanes affects the normal driving of motor vehicles in the relevant lane, the driver will be fined. When changing lanes: Observe through the rearview mirror whether there are vehicles overtaking on both sides of the road, and confirm whether there is a safe distance in the lane you intend to enter. Without hindering the normal driving of vehicles in that lane, smoothly steer into the desired lane and then turn off the turn signal. Each lane change: Can only be made to an adjacent lane; if you need to change to a lane beyond the adjacent one, you should first change to the adjacent lane, drive for a while, and then change to another lane. Changing lanes is strictly prohibited in sections where the lane dividing line is solid. When changing lanes at an intersection: Observe road traffic signs and markings in advance, choose the driving lane according to the direction you need to travel, and enter the guide lane in the direction of the guide arrow before entering the solid line area.
