Small cars generally refer to household vehicles. According to regulations, non-commercial small and mini passenger vehicles, including 5-seat sedans and 7-seat SUVs, have no mandatory retirement age. When the normal mileage reaches 600,000 kilometers, the state will guide the vehicle to be scrapped. Guided scrappage is a recommended retirement, but if the vehicle still meets the requirements for continued use, it does not have to be scrapped. The vehicle scrappage process is as follows: The owner of a car applying for scrappage and renewal should fill out and submit an "Application Form for Vehicle Modification, Transfer, Alteration, Suspension, or Scrappage" with the owner's seal affixed. Apply at the registration and acceptance counter. For vehicles that have reached the scrappage age, a "Vehicle Scrappage Notice" will be issued. For vehicles that have not reached the scrappage age but are deemed to meet the scrappage standards after inspection, a "Vehicle Scrappage Notice" will be issued. The owner should choose a qualified recycling company to dismantle the vehicle with the "Notice". After verifying the "Notice", the recycling company will dismantle the vehicle and take photos. The engine must be separated from the vehicle, the engine block must be broken, and the frame (chassis) must be cut. The owner should submit the "Modification Form", "XX Province Vehicle Renewal Technical Appraisal Form", "Scrapped Vehicle Recycling Certificate", and photos of the dismantled vehicle to the inspection counter for verification and signature. The license plates will be reclaimed, and the application will be submitted for approval according to regulations to complete the scrappage registration.
