Why was the Lavida Pure Electric discontinued?

Lavida Pure Electric has not been discontinued, and the currently available model is the 2019 Premium Edition. Exterior and interior of the Lavida Pure Electric: The Lavida Pure Electric adopts the same design style as the fuel-powered Lavida, with distinctions made in areas such as the grille, wheel rims, and body badges. The instrument panel features additional blue accents, and the tachometer has been replaced with information related to the motor and battery. Power and range of the Lavida Pure Electric: It is equipped with an electric motor delivering a maximum power of 100kW (136Ps) and a maximum torque of 290Nm. The NEDC driving range reaches 356km. It comes with a five-level adjustable coasting energy recovery system, offering options to switch between 'Off, D1, D2, D3, B'.
I've carefully considered the discontinuation of the Lavida Pure Electric. The main reason is that Volkswagen has shifted all its resources to the new platform. This car used the outdated MQB platform converted from fuel vehicles, which is completely outdated compared to the MEB electric vehicle platform that Volkswagen is currently promoting. The ID series built on the new platform can achieve a range of 500 km, with fast charging reaching 80% in just half an hour. The old Lavida Pure Electric's 278 km range is simply not competitive anymore. I've driven my friend's old Lavida Pure Electric, and the range drops drastically when the air conditioning is on, making highway driving quite nerve-wracking. With the electric vehicle market becoming so competitive, even cars like the BYD Dolphin, priced around 100,000 yuan, outperform it in terms of performance. Naturally, manufacturers have to phase out outdated products. I heard that last year, the Shanghai factory production line was already converted to produce the ID.3, and the old platform models will be completely discontinued once the inventory is cleared. Honestly, the discontinuation is to make way for new products, as Volkswagen is now heavily promoting the ID family.
