Why was the GTR discontinued?

The implementation of the China VI emission standards has changed, and the currently sold GTR does not meet China's emission standards. Here is relevant information: 1. Lack of practicality: Although the GTR is cool and powerful, it is not practical enough. It can be used for racing, but it is not suitable for family travel. The GTR itself feels like it was born for the track. 2. Introduction: The Nissan GT-R refers to the high-performance, high-reliability, high-horsepower sports car produced by Nissan. After years of evolution and improvement in Nissan's Skyline sedan series, the GT-R model emerged, becoming the highest version of the series.
As someone quite familiar with automotive technology, I believe the discontinuation of the GTR is primarily due to emission regulations. Standards like Euro 6d require new cars to have low emissions and fuel consumption, but the GTR's engine is an older V6 design, making modifications both difficult and expensive. Nissan chose not to invest heavily in upgrades because its sales have been declining year after year, and it made more sense to allocate resources to new models, such as the electric sports car Ariya. Another issue is the shrinking market for performance cars, with younger consumers preferring electric or hybrid vehicles, and models like the Supra and Mustang taking market share. While I think this is good for the environment, it's still a shame since the GTR is a classic sports car. To avoid discontinuation, an earlier model refresh would have been ideal. Now, with no new models available, enthusiasts can only turn to the used market or wait for future versions.
