Why Should You Turn Off the Air Conditioning Before Turning Off the Engine?

Turning off the engine before turning off the air conditioning can be harmful to the engine. This is because the next time the vehicle is started, the engine will have to bear the load of the air conditioning, which can cause damage due to the high stress. It is recommended to turn off the air conditioning a few minutes before reaching your destination. This allows the natural air to circulate, bringing the temperature inside the air conditioning ducts back to ambient levels and eliminating temperature differences, thereby maintaining relative dryness in the air conditioning system and preventing mold growth. Additionally, it is advisable to wait two to three minutes after starting the vehicle, allowing the engine to be properly lubricated, before turning on the air conditioning. Below are some precautions for using the air conditioning: 1. Using the air conditioning in summer: When the weather is hot and you need to cool down, press the AC button, adjust the temperature control knob to the blue section, and then turn on the fan switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and the car's air conditioning compressor will start working, blowing cold air from the vents. 2. Using the air conditioning in winter: When you need warm air in winter, adjust the temperature control knob to the red section and turn on the fan switch to get warm air. There is no need to press the AC button, as the heating system does not rely on the compressor. The warm air is provided by the car's radiator, and the blower directs the heat into the cabin, consuming almost no additional energy, so the A/C button does not need to be activated.
