Why should the original car windshield be avoided from replacement?

The reason why the original car windshield should be avoided from replacement is that after replacement, issues such as poor sound insulation, air leakage, and the vehicle being classified as an accident car may arise, affecting the vehicle's value. However, for phenomena like poor sealing, air leakage, and noise, most of the reasons are due to improper installation by workers and the purchase of inferior glass products. These problems can be avoided by purchasing quality-assured genuine products and ensuring standardized installation. The front windshield is a vulnerable component, and it is inevitable to encounter some gravel or hard objects during daily use that may cause the windshield to crack. Therefore, replacing the windshield is also a normal occurrence.
After driving for fifteen years, I sincerely advise everyone not to replace the windshield lightly. The original factory glass perfectly matches the car frame. Back when my old Passat got cracked by a stone and I replaced it with aftermarket glass, I always heard wind leakage noises on the highway. Later, I found out it was because the curvature was off by 1 millimeter, causing the sealing strip not to press tightly. On rainy days, the wipers couldn’t clean properly, and the technician said it was due to incorrect glass curvature causing refraction distortion. The worst part was in winter when I turned on the heater—the new glass actually fogged up in certain spots, something that never happened with the original double-laminated glass. Looking back now, I saved two thousand dollars back then, but driving became a daily ordeal.
