Why Open the Trunk When Refueling with Gas?

The reason for opening the trunk when refueling a car with gas is to prevent undetected gas leaks during the process. Opening the trunk allows for timely detection of any leaks to avoid gas leakage. Refueling a car with gas involves compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). Generally, refueling with gas refers to the car being able to use natural gas as fuel, also known as gasoline-to-gas conversion. Similar to refueling with gasoline, refueling with gas also requires going to a designated gas station. Precautions for refueling natural gas vehicles: Before refueling, confirm whether the gas contains water. Only use dehydrated compressed natural gas to avoid ice blockage in the pipelines. Ensure the refueling port is clean during refueling to prevent water and debris from entering the gas tank and causing pipeline blockage. When starting the vehicle, let it idle for 3 minutes and wait until the water temperature reaches 40 degrees before driving. The high-pressure fine filter element must be cleaned or replaced promptly to avoid clogging or ice blockage that may hinder gas supply. The engine coolant must be antifreeze from a reputable manufacturer—never use water—and the antifreeze level should not fall below the minimum mark on the radiator to prevent the pressure reducer from freezing due to insufficient antifreeze. When parking overnight, close all gas tank ball valves and start the vehicle until it automatically shuts off to avoid residual gas with water in the pipes freezing at low nighttime temperatures, causing ice blockage.
