Why is there no warm air in Wuling Hongguang?

The reason why there is no warm air in Wuling Hongguang is due to incorrect mode selection. To turn on the heater, simply activate the air conditioning and adjust the temperature directly to the red high-temperature zone without pressing the AC button. Additionally, it is not advisable to turn on the heater immediately after starting the car. Wait for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water temperature rises to the normal level, i.e., when the water temperature reaches the middle mark, before turning on the heater. The Wuling Hongguang Mini is a microcar under SAIC-GM-Wuling, featuring a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link non-independent rear suspension. In terms of body dimensions, it measures 2917mm in length, 1493mm in width, and 1621mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1940mm. Power-wise, it is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor paired with a 1-speed fixed gear ratio transmission.
I've personally experienced the issue of no heating in my Wuling Hongguang several times. It's usually caused by coolant problems—either the radiator water level is too low or there's a leak preventing heat transfer. Another possibility is a faulty blower fan; when you turn on the heat but no air comes out, listen for a humming sound—no sound means the motor is burned out or a fuse has blown. Additionally, malfunctioning control buttons could be the culprit, often due to stuck switches or aging wiring. Driving without heating in winter is dangerous, increasing the risk of freezing or foggy windows. I recommend first pulling over to check the coolant reservoir level and topping it up to the midpoint to see if that helps. If the blower fan isn’t spinning, try adjusting the fan speed settings. If the problem persists, it’s best to visit a professional repair shop promptly to avoid prolonged engine overheating and damage to major components. Wuling vehicles are economical and practical, but they require diligent maintenance—especially seasonal system cleanings to prevent issues. This approach has saved me a lot of trouble.
