The reason there is no sound when playing music via Bluetooth in the Buick Excelle is that the audio source has not been switched to Bluetooth. Only by selecting Bluetooth as the audio source can the music be played. It is recommended that the owner select the audio source in advance before connecting to Bluetooth. The Excelle is a new high-end mid-size car launched by Shanghai GM's Buick brand based on the "global platform, European and American technology," incorporating the dynamic genes that Buick can bestow on a mid-size car. The 2018 Excelle features a new family-style winged chrome grille, giving the front fascia a sharper and more rugged appearance. The combination of black piano vertical grille and high-gloss chrome winged grille naturally draws the visual focus of the front end to the emblem.

I've encountered this issue before. When I was driving my Excelle, the Bluetooth just wouldn't produce any sound, which was incredibly frustrating. Later I discovered several key points: First, check your phone's Bluetooth settings - make sure both 'Phone Audio' and 'Media Audio' permissions are enabled, as some phones only enable call functions by default. Second, verify the car's volume settings - not only adjust the steering wheel buttons to proper levels, but also ensure the media interface on the central screen isn't muted. Third, try switching music apps, like changing from KuGou to NetEase Cloud Music, as sometimes it's a specific app compatibility issue. If none of these work, reboot the car's infotainment system by long-pressing the central power button for about 10 seconds. Also check your charging cable - although Bluetooth audio doesn't require wiring, having a charging cable connected might sometimes affect audio output. As a last resort, you may need to visit the 4S shop for a module software upgrade.

There are several scenarios where my Excelle's Bluetooth has no sound: no sound when first connected, usually resolved by immediately restarting the phone; sound cutting off midway during playback, possibly due to distance between the phone and the car system or signal interference nearby; and complete loss of sound, which requires checking the Bluetooth pairing list to see if another device has taken over the connection. An important note is that compatibility issues often arise after a phone system update, especially after an iOS upgrade, requiring a network settings reset in the phone's settings. Don't forget to restore the car system to factory settings in the setup menu, remembering to back up saved radio frequencies beforehand. Additionally, navigation voice and music playback have different priorities; if a route is being announced, the music volume may be lowered, so don't mistake this for a malfunction. Develop the good habit of connecting your phone to the charging cable as soon as you get in the car, as stable voltage can reduce the likelihood of disconnections.

The most common reason for no sound when connected to Bluetooth is a settings issue. Open the Bluetooth menu on your phone, select the Excelle device to view detailed permissions, and check the 'Media Audio' option. On the car's infotainment system, enter the sound settings and confirm that the audio source is set to Bluetooth rather than radio or USB. Also, pay attention to physical buttons: make sure you haven't accidentally pressed the steering wheel mute button, and when rotating the volume knob, check if the volume bar on the central display changes. Next, check if your phone's media volume is restricted by the system, especially on Android devices where different apps have independent volume controls. If that doesn't work, delete all Bluetooth pairing records and search and reconnect once. Finally, consider whether your phone's system hasn't been updated for too long, and try upgrading to the latest version. Older Excelle models may need to visit a 4S store to refresh the infotainment system firmware.
