Why is there no response when starting the Chery Ant?

There is no response when starting the Chery Ant due to battery failure and improper engine oil usage. Check the battery status: In winter, difficulty in starting the car is mostly caused by insufficient battery charge or the battery reaching the end of its service life. When the battery is low on power, the starting rotation is weak, and you may only hear a clicking sound. Upon attempting to start again, the clicking sound may gradually turn into a hissing sound. Avoid continuous ignition attempts to prevent the battery from being completely drained. Use the appropriate engine oil: In winter, as temperatures drop, the viscosity of engine oil increases, making it harder to flow and thereby increasing engine resistance. If starting is difficult, check whether the correct engine oil grade is being used.
I recently encountered a no-start issue with my Chery Ant, and found many potential culprits. First, the 12V auxiliary battery might be dead—this little guy powers the startup system. If it's drained, even the dashboard lights won’t turn on, so try jump-starting it with another car. For the key fob, a dead battery or pairing failure can also cause issues—replace the battery and hold it close to the start button to reinitialize. Blown fuses are common; check the engine bay fuse box for headlight or starter-related fuses and test continuity. Wiring problems like loose connectors or moisture-induced short circuits require manually inspecting all plugs for tightness. Another pitfall is the anti-theft system misfiring—disconnecting the battery and re-pairing the key often helps. Stay calm; if basic troubleshooting fails, tow it to a repair shop to avoid damaging more parts. Regular auxiliary battery replacement during maintenance is key for prevention.
