Why is there no response when starting the BYD F3 with electric ignition?

There may be several reasons why the BYD F3 does not respond when starting: 1. Battery and fuel pressure: Check the battery's charge, fuel pressure, and the fuses in the fuse box. 2. Starter circuit issues: Problems with the starter or its circuit (from the ignition switch to the starter), with a focus on the starter's solenoid switch and the ignition switch. 3. Power supply issues: Observe if the brightness of the dashboard lights changes during startup. If they dim, it indicates a dead battery. If there is no change, it suggests a damaged starter or a faulty ignition switch below the key cylinder. 5. Other issues: Additionally, a dead battery, a damaged starter, or a faulty starter relay can all result in no response when trying to start the engine.
Recently, my BYD F3 also experienced the issue of no response when trying to start the engine, which was quite annoying. Common causes include a dead or aging battery. I suggest trying to start with the key first. If there's no sound at all, it's likely a battery issue—you can check if the voltage is below 12 volts or ask a friend for a jump start. Another possibility is a faulty starter motor. The starter motor in BYD F3 is prone to wear, especially after several years of use, increasing the chance of failure. A blown fuse is also common; the fuse box is usually on the right side of the engine bay, and you can check it by flipping the cover to see if the relevant fuses are blackened or blown. Don’t forget to inspect the ignition switch and wiring connections—sometimes they just get loose or rusty, and a simple clean might fix the issue. To avoid unnecessary trips to the repair shop, it’s best to check these things yourself first to save time and money. Also, remember to test the battery every six months to extend its lifespan.
