Why is there abnormal noise when steering?

Abnormal noise when turning the steering wheel may be caused by a faulty airbag clock spring inside the steering wheel or aging of the steering tie rod ball joint. Reasons for abnormal noise when steering: Loosening or damage of the stabilizer bar bushings. Loose or damaged stabilizer bar bushings not only cause noise when turning but also produce sounds when driving on uneven roads. Loose stabilizer bar bushings can be fixed by adding shims, while damaged ones must be replaced. Consequences of aging ball joints in cars: Damaged ball joints can cause slight displacement of the suspension, leading to errors in wheel alignment data, which may result in uneven tire wear or even steering deviation. It is advisable to address the issue at a nearby repair shop as soon as possible to avoid greater losses. Note that after fixing the chassis issue, a wheel alignment must be performed again; otherwise, the problem will persist. If the ball joint is excessively loose, it may cause the connected rods and arms to break or even detach under load impact.
