Why is the windshield washer spray weak?

The reasons for weak windshield washer spray: 1. Check if the windshield washer fluid is almost empty; 2. The water in the washer reservoir is too dirty, or the cleaning solution inside has deteriorated, forming impurities that block the washer spray pipeline; 3. Inspect the pipeline from the pump to the spray nozzle. If there are no leaks or blockages, the issue might be that the pump's speed or pressure does not meet the requirements, and the pump may need to be replaced. The windshield wiper is a device used to wipe away raindrops and dust attached to the vehicle's windshield, improving the driver's visibility and enhancing driving safety. Almost all cars worldwide are equipped with wipers, and rear windows of hatchbacks and SUVs also have wipers. Besides cars, other transportation vehicles like trains and trams are also equipped with wipers.
When I encountered weak windshield washer spray, I figured it out myself. Experience tells me the most common cause is clogged nozzles, where dust or dirt gets into the spray holes, reducing water flow or even stopping it completely. Check if the washer fluid reservoir is nearly empty. If refilling doesn’t help, gently clear the nozzle holes with a small needle or thin wire—that usually works. If the hose has cracks and leaks, it can also cause low pressure; feel the hose to see if it’s wet. Digging deeper, the washer pump motor might be worn out or broken, making a humming sound but with weak water flow. A blown fuse can also stop it—open the fuse box and check the corresponding slot. Don’t ignore these issues; weak spray in rainy conditions can dangerously blur visibility. I use purified washer fluid to avoid clogs and make it a habit to clean the nozzles regularly to extend their lifespan.
