Close all windows. Note that the anti-theft system can still activate even if a window is open. 2. Turn off the ignition switch. For vehicles with a mechanical key, also remove the key from the ignition switch. 3. Close and lock all vehicle doors, trunk, and engine hood. For vehicles with a smart key, use the LOCK button on the smart key to lock the doors. 4. Confirm the security indicator light is on. The security indicator light will stay on for about 30 seconds and then start flashing. The anti-theft system is now active.
