Why is the right garage narrow?

Right garage being narrow is due to turning the steering wheel too early during reverse parking. Reverse parking method: Taking right reverse parking as an example, the distance between the car at the starting position and the left line should be 1.2-1.8 meters, the steering wheel should be straight, and the car body should be parallel to the left line. When reversing, use the lower edge of the left rearview mirror as a reference. When the two coincide, turn the steering wheel fully to the right and continue reversing. Deduction criteria: Main points for deduction in reverse parking include driving over the line, the car not entering the garage, exceeding the time limit, and not following the designated route. Reverse parking must be completed within 210 seconds; exceeding the time limit results in disqualification. Not following the sequence also leads to disqualification. During reverse parking, pay attention to observing the 30cm side margin issue.
I've been driving for over twenty years and often encounter the issue of narrowed visibility in the right rearview mirror, which is usually caused by improper angle adjustment. After moving the seat position, if the mirror isn't readjusted properly, only a tiny portion of the car's side is visible, naturally limiting the field of view. The car's body structure also plays a role—for example, some models have thick A-pillars or highly sloped rear windows, making the right-side visibility inherently worse than the left. Additionally, older cars with blurry or greasy mirrors can make the view feel even narrower. Safety is the top priority, as narrow visibility increases the risk of blind spots when changing lanes. I make it a habit to spend a few seconds adjusting the mirror before driving: sit upright in the driver's seat and slowly rotate the right mirror until just a small part of the car's rear and most of the right lane are visible. On rainy days, I pay extra attention to cleaning the mirror surface. Nowadays, there are also wide-angle mirror options available—they're affordable to replace and can expand the field of view while reducing distortion issues. From my personal experience, developing the habit of adjusting the mirror can prevent many accidents—don’t skip it for convenience.
