Why is the Mercedes-Benz rearview mirror not automatically folding?

It may be due to a disconnected or dead battery, or incorrect settings. Below are the relevant explanations: Automatic folding function: Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with a one-touch automatic folding rearview mirror function. The control button is located on the front door panel near the driver's seat, parallel to the rearview mirror. The four directional buttons adjust the four angles of the rearview mirror, the RL button selects between the left and right rearview mirrors, and the central round button is the folding switch. When the rearview mirror is extended, pressing and holding the central round button for more than 2 seconds will fold it. When folded, pressing and holding the central round button for more than 2 seconds will restore it to the memorized position. Gear mechanism damage: If you feel the motor vibrating but the mirror does not move, it indicates that the folding gear mechanism is damaged. If you do not feel the motor vibrating and tapping does not help, it suggests a motor malfunction or wiring issue. Wiring problems are usually caused by a faulty switch or a blown fuse.
