Why is the electric fan of the Tiguan not working?

The reasons why the electric fan of the Tiguan is not working are as follows: 1. Poor motor lubrication: The fan does not rotate because the motor lubrication is insufficient, making it difficult for the motor to drive the fan blades after installation. 2. Motor overheating: Overheating of the motor can also reduce its load-bearing capacity and effective power, making it unable to drive the load. 3. Reduced capacitor capacity: The capacitor capacity may decrease, leading to a smaller starting torque of the motor, which cannot drive the load. 4. Prolonged motor usage: If the fan has been used for a long time, the motor may wear out. After the motor's shaft sleeve wears, it can easily burn out. Long-term use of the motor can also increase its internal resistance, reducing its load-bearing capacity and making it unable to rotate the fan blades.
I've been driving for over 30 years and have seen many cases where the fan doesn't spin. When the engine temperature rises and the fan doesn't move, the problem could be due to aging or wear of the fan motor itself, requiring replacement; the small switch of the relay getting stuck or having poor contact; a blown fuse, where the overload protection kicks in, and simply replacing it will do; a short circuit or open circuit in the wiring, with wires worn out and grounding; or a malfunctioning temperature sensor or control module. In the Tiguan model, the fuse box is usually located under the driver's seat on the left side. You can first pull it out to check if the fuse is blackened, and shake the relay to see if it makes a sound. If you notice the fan has stopped spinning, pull over immediately and don't force the drive to avoid engine overheating and damage. During regular maintenance, start the car and listen to the fan's spinning sound—address any abnormalities early. Developing good habits can save you a lot of money.
