Audi wiper not moving may be due to the following reasons: 1. Fuse blown: The wiper may not move because the fuse (to prevent circuit overload) is blown, causing the wiper to malfunction. In this case, you need to open the fuse box and check whether the corresponding fuse (refer to the manual on the cover) is blown. If it is, simply replace it, but remember to turn off all the car's power before replacement. 2. Motor burnt out: The probability of motor burnout is actually very low, but it could also be due to quality control issues. If the car ignition switch is in the power-on state and there is a slight burning smell, it is likely that the motor is damaged and needs to be repaired at an auto repair shop.

Last time I fixed my friend's Audi whose wipers weren't moving, I found that the wiper motors in older cars are particularly prone to failure. Gear wear or jamming can cause them to stop working completely. You need to check if the transmission linkage is rusted or deformed - loose bushings can also prevent the wipers from moving. The fuse is located in the box under the left side of the driver's seat - it's that small brown 10-amp strip that needs replacement if blown. Also watch out for oxidized switch contacts; spraying some WD-40 can solve poor contact issues. In winter, prevent the wiper arms from freezing by pouring warm water (but don't force them!). These problems can be fixed by replacing the motor yourself for about 200 yuan, otherwise you'll have to call the 4S shop for a tow truck.

That time when my brother's A4 wipers suddenly failed, it turned out to be a short circuit caused by water entering the wiring connector after car washing. Using a multimeter, we found the fuse wasn't blown, but the relay was clicking, indicating the control signal was lost. Later, after removing the wiper arm cover, we saw the motor connector had turned green. Be extra careful when handling the wiring harness - Audi's rain sensors are overly sensitive, and false triggers can even lock the system. During rainy seasons, it's best to clean the drainage channel at the lower edge of the windshield every month. If leaves block it, water can backflow into the motor.

The most common cause of wiper failure is a disconnected linkage mechanism. Last time I helped a neighbor check, turning on the wipers only produced the sound of the motor spinning freely. Opening the hood revealed the U-shaped linkage had detached from the ball joint, which was easily fixed by snapping it back with needle-nose pliers. Note that Audi's design is very compact, and plastic components are prone to cracking with age. High summer temperatures can also cause the rubber boot on the drive shaft to melt and stick, but a spray of silicone grease can lubricate it. If there's no response at all, first check the blue 10A fuse under the dashboard on the driver's side.
