Why does XPeng only charge up to 90%?

XPeng vehicles may not fully charge due to the following reasons: 1. Threshold protection: The charging pile implements SOC (State-Of-Charge, indicating the remaining battery capacity) threshold protection. For instance, if the pile sets the SOC protection threshold at 95%, charging will automatically stop when reaching 95%. Some charging piles also have similar threshold protections, making partial charging a normal occurrence. 2. Special design: For safety considerations, manufacturers may implement special designs where the actual charging capacity is often smaller than the nominal battery capacity. 3. Battery degradation: Normal battery capacity degradation typically appears after 2-3 years of vehicle use, potentially resulting in inability to fully charge. 4. Abnormal conditions: The vehicle may actively stop charging when detecting certain abnormalities, such as excessively high battery temperature.
