Why does the Wuling Hongguang suddenly stall during normal driving?

There are many reasons for sudden stalling, mainly due to running out of fuel, clogged fuel lines, or a loose generator belt. Reasons for stalling: Automatic transmission models: Automatic transmission models are less likely to stall, while manual transmission models may stall more frequently due to lower driving skills. However, it is not impossible for automatic transmission cars to stall; the main reason is the use of low-quality fuel, which causes engine carbon buildup and stalling. Precautions: For automatic transmission cars stalling, the primary cause is the use of low-quality fuel. One solution is to refuel at reputable, larger gas stations with higher-grade fuel, such as using 97-octane gasoline. Although it is more expensive, it ensures a longer lifespan for your car and better performance during driving.
I've encountered this situation several times, mostly due to fuel system issues. The Wuling Hongguang uses a multi-point fuel injection system. If the fuel pump suddenly fails to supply fuel, the engine will stall immediately. It feels like suddenly running out of breath while jogging – the car instantly loses power. Common causes include clogged fuel pump screens, air leaks in fuel lines, or faulty fuel pump control modules. Last time I came across a car with poor contact in the fuel pump connector – it jerked while driving and eventually stalled in the middle of the road. If the engine suddenly stalls while driving, immediately turn on hazard lights and pull over. Never attempt forced restart as it may damage the engine. Best to have it towed to a repair shop for fuel pressure checks, and have the fuel quality inspected too – substandard gas from small stations often causes such problems.
