Why does the Qashqai's brake make noise?

The main reasons for the Qashqai's brake noise are: 1. The brake pads are too hard; 2. The brake pads are worn down to the backing plate; 3. The brake disc or brake drum is excessively worn; 4. The brake caliper is rusty; 5. The handbrake cable is not flexible; 6. The brake master cylinder is slow to return. It is recommended to check whether the right brake pad of the vehicle has hard spots, scratches, or loose attachments on the brake pad, or if there is foreign matter between the brake disc and pad. It is advisable to contact the local 4S store for inspection and repair. The Qashqai is positioned as a compact SUV, with dimensions of 4401mm in length, 1837mm in width, 1593mm in height, and a wheelbase of 646mm.
I drive a Qashqai, and recently the brakes have been making noise frequently, especially on rainy days or after a cold start. The sound sometimes resembles a squeaky friction noise, while other times it's like a sharp whistle. I suspect it's mostly due to dust or sand stuck on the brake pads, or perhaps some rust on the brake discs. If the car isn’t driven for a long time, the brake pads might also get damp and warp, causing noise when braking. I’ve experienced this before—initially, I thought it wasn’t a big deal, but the noise became more frequent over time. When I took it to the repair shop, I found out the brake pads were almost worn out. The technician said the Qashqai’s braking system is quite sensitive and tends to make noise with even minor debris. They recommended regular cleaning and replacing the pads. Now, after every car wash or long trip, I check the brake condition to avoid noise affecting my mood and safety. For daily parking, I try to choose dry spots to prevent rust on the brake components.
