Why does the Q5 brake squeak?

Because the brake pads have become thinner, causing the backing plate to grind against the brake disc, or due to hard brake pads or foreign objects in the brake pads, all of which can lead to abnormal noise. Therefore, when abnormal brake noise occurs, the first step is to check the thickness of the brake pads. If the thickness is normal, forcefully pressing the brakes a few times may alleviate the noise issue. Reasons for an unexplained increase in brake pedal travel or the brake pedal not returning: 1. There is air in the brake lines that needs to be bled. 2. The master cylinder is malfunctioning. 3. For some models with rear drum brakes, excessive clearance between the brake shoes and the brake drum can also cause soft brakes and excessive pedal travel.
