Why does the idle speed increase after changing to new engine oil?

The newly replaced engine oil is relatively thinner, has better lubrication effect, and lower internal resistance, so the idle speed increases. After changing engine oil: After changing to new engine oil, the ECU also needs an adaptation process. With the new thinner oil reducing rotational resistance, the ECU still supplies fuel based on the previous oil condition's injection quantity, resulting in excessively high idle speed. The ECU needs to readapt to the new oil's viscosity. After some time, it will gradually adjust to the new oil condition and recalibrate properly. Engine oil change interval: Only by truly understanding the oil change interval can the purpose of vehicle maintenance be correctly achieved. Currently, for most private cars, including turbocharged engines, oil changes should be considered around 8,000 km. For naturally aspirated engines with lower working intensity, oil changes can be delayed until 10,000 km.
