Why Does the Gear Shift Lever Shake?
1 Answers
Manual transmission gear lever shaking is a normal phenomenon. Some models equipped with certain transmissions may exhibit manual gear lever shaking, and a slight tremor in the manual gear lever is considered normal. Reasons for gear lever shaking: Most MT (manual transmission) models experience some level of shaking. In these models, since the gear shift lever is directly connected to the transmission and also to the engine, the engine's inherent vibrations can cause some trembling in the gear lever, which is a normal occurrence. Reasons for severe gear lever shaking: However, if the gear lever shakes excessively, it is likely due to incomplete coupling. Although the gears may be in contact, if they are not fully coupled, power cannot be transmitted effectively. Additionally, when the clutch is released while the gears are not fully coupled, the gear shift lever, still connected to the gears via the linkage, will experience significant shaking.
