Why Does the Fuel Pump Keep Failing After Converting to CNG?
1 Answers
The reasons why the fuel pump keeps failing after converting to CNG are as follows: Insufficient fuel in the tank: When the fuel level warning light on the dashboard illuminates, there are approximately 7 liters of fuel remaining in the tank, and the fuel level is roughly at the red line indicated in the diagram. Due to the low fuel level, the fuel pump motor does not receive adequate cooling and lubrication, which can cause the motor to overheat or even stop working. Poor fuel quality: When the fuel quality is poor, the fuel tank may contain various impurities or foreign particles. The fuel pump draws fuel through its bottom filter screen and delivers it to the engine. During this process, larger particles are blocked by the filter screen, while smaller particles are sucked into the fuel pump motor, inevitably accelerating wear and leading to premature failure of the fuel pump. Long overdue replacement of the fuel filter: If the fuel filter has not been replaced for a long time, the fuel supply system becomes severely clogged, causing the fuel pump to work harder. Prolonged operation under high load conditions can lead to fuel pump damage.
