Why does the engine sound become louder when stepping on the accelerator?

When stepping on the accelerator, the engine sound becomes louder for several reasons: 1. The pipe connecting the air intake grille to the air filter is loose, and fixing it with tape will solve the issue. 2. The external belt is squealing, requiring repair at a 4S shop. 3. There is an issue with the internal mechanical parts of the engine. If under warranty, immediately report to a 4S shop for inspection and repair. Below are common engine problems: 1. Abnormal engine vibration: The most common cause is dirty throttle leading to idle vibration. Other causes include faulty spark plugs, damaged ignition coils, or mechanical engine failures. 2. Severe engine carbon buildup: The main reasons for severe carbon buildup are the use of low-quality engine oil and fuel. Engines with severe carbon buildup often exhibit symptoms like idle vibration, weak acceleration, high fuel consumption, and difficulty starting when cold. 3. Engine overheating: The normal operating temperature of an engine is between 80~90°C. Temperatures exceeding this range are defined as engine overheating. Excessive engine temperature can even lead to severe mechanical failures like cylinder scuffing or bearing damage.
I've been driving for over 20 years, and it's quite common for the engine noise to increase when stepping on the accelerator. During acceleration, the RPM surges, and the noise naturally rises, but if it's abnormally loud, you should pay attention. It could be due to aging engine mounts causing stronger vibration transmission, or a leaking muffler that suddenly roars during hard acceleration. The last time I encountered this situation, it was caused by excessive spark plug gap leading to knocking sounds. Another possibility is delayed oil changes; insufficient lubrication can make piston movement sounds rough. Remember to check the air filter – if it's too dirty, it can make the engine roar as if it's gasping. If this is accompanied by slower throttle response or a sudden surge in fuel consumption, you should immediately head to the repair shop. Don't delay until it turns into a major engine overhaul.
