Why does the electric scooter jerk and not move when the throttle is twisted?

The main reasons why an electric scooter jerks and does not move when the throttle is twisted are insufficient battery power, poor power line contact, or a faulty controller. When the battery level is too low, the controller sets a minimum voltage value to protect the battery and prevent over-discharge. When starting the electric scooter, the battery voltage drop increases, and if the power is low, the voltage may drop below the minimum value, causing the controller to stop outputting power. The voltage then slowly recovers, and this repeated action results in jerking. In such cases, it is necessary to check whether the battery power is too low or if any of the battery connection wires are loose or disconnected. A burnt fuse inside the battery box, a loose plug socket between the battery box and the scooter, or poor contact in the throttle can also have an impact. Additionally, it could be due to a loose power input plug of the controller. In such cases, it is advisable to have it checked at a professional repair shop.
