Why does the car smell like gasoline?

Reasons for gasoline smell in the car: 1. Aging rubber pipes of the gasoline vapor canister: In older vehicles, rubber components in the engine compartment are prone to aging. The pipes connecting the canister to the throttle may leak into the engine compartment if they age, requiring timely replacement; 2. Leakage at gasoline pipe connections: If gasoline pipes leak, the smell may enter the car through the air conditioning system, forming a layer of grease over time, necessitating tightening or repair; 3. Poor sealing after fuel pump disassembly: Some owners may replace or disassemble the fuel pump, and gasoline smell in the car could result from residual substances not being cleaned properly post-disassembly. It is advisable to have the fuel pump installation checked at a repair shop; 4. Overfilling the fuel tank: Filling the tank too full can easily cause a gasoline smell inside the car.
