Why does the car make a clunking sound when turning?

The reasons for the clunking sound when the car turns are: 1. The sound from the turn signal returning to position. If the turn signal is activated while turning, this sound could be from the return clip of the turn signal's automatic return mechanism; 2. Aging of the steering tie rod ball joint; 3. Steering gear failure. If the abnormal noise is very loud during turning, it might be caused by excessive gear clearance in the steering gear, requiring replacement of the steering gear; 4. Abnormal noise from the stabilizer bar. Loose or damaged stabilizer bar bushings not only produce noise when turning but also when driving on uneven roads. Loose stabilizer bar bushings can be fixed by adding shims.
