When the engine is first started, the coolant circulates in the minor cycle, bypassing the radiator to help the engine warm up quickly. Once the engine reaches its normal operating temperature, the coolant switches to the major cycle, flowing through the radiator to dissipate heat and maintain the engine within its optimal temperature range. Coolant requires regular replacement. If left unchanged for too long, its freezing point may rise and boiling point may drop, adversely affecting engine performance. When replacing coolant, always visit a professional repair shop and use specialized equipment.
