Wey was initially promoted as Wey, but the Wey trademark had already been registered by BYD, so it was renamed Weypai. Later, BYD transferred the Wey trademark to Great Wall, and then Great Wall changed Weypai back to Wey. Wey is a Chinese luxury SUV brand under Great Wall Motors, established in 2016. Its product lineup includes the VV5, VV6, VV7, and VV7 PHEV new energy series. Great Wall Motors is a Chinese automotive brand founded in 1984, headquartered in Baoding, Hebei Province. It owns five brands: Haval, Wey (WEY), Ora, Tank, and Great Wall Pickup, covering three major categories: SUVs, sedans, and pickup trucks. It has four vehicle production bases and possesses independent supporting capabilities for core components such as engines and transmissions.
