Why did Mercedes-Benz discontinue the GLK?

Reasons for the discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz GLK: 1. Making way for the Mercedes-Benz GLC: The design of the GLK was actually from the previous generation of Mercedes-Benz models, and both its interior and exterior had fallen behind the times. However, in 2015, Mercedes-Benz planned to focus on the GLC model, which had higher overall product competitiveness. If the GLK had continued to be sold alongside the GLC, it would have inevitably diluted the GLC's sales. 2. Mediocre sales performance: From 2012 to 2015, the monthly sales of the Mercedes-Benz GLK never exceeded 6,000 units, with the worst months seeing only around 2,000 units. Such sales figures led Mercedes-Benz to abandon updates for the GLK300, making direct discontinuation the better choice. Moreover, at that time, the BMW X3 was aggressively competing in the market, and the GLK's product strength was unable to match the X3.
