Why can't people who drive automatic cars drive manual cars?

Automatic and manual transmissions are fundamentally different, and the content taught by driving school instructors also varies. Holding only an automatic transmission driver's license does not permit driving manual transmission vehicles, whereas a manual transmission license allows driving automatic transmission cars. Introduction to Automatic Transmission: Automatic transmission, as the name suggests, does not require the driver to manually shift gears. The vehicle automatically selects the appropriate gear based on driving speed and traffic conditions. Typically, automatic transmission cars have six gear positions, arranged from top to bottom as: P, R, N, D, S, L. Introduction to Manual Transmission: A manual transmission car uses a manual gear-shifting mechanical transmission (also known as manual transmission, MT) to adjust speed. This means the driver must manually move the gear lever to change the gear engagement positions inside the transmission, altering the gear ratio to achieve speed changes. The gear lever can only be moved when the clutch is depressed.
