Both excessively low and high temperatures can affect the quality of the lubricating oil. Therefore, it is not advisable to store lubricating oil for extended periods in overly hot or cold environments. The ideal storage space for canned and drummed lubricating oil is indoors. Small packaged oils and any opened lubricating oil must be stored indoors to avoid the effects of climate change. Shelf life of engine oil: Unopened: 5 years; Remaining oil after maintenance: 1 year; Oil poured into the engine: 6 months.
