
Mazda Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Fuchū, Hiroshima, Japan. Significant early development followed its 1920 founding by Jujiro Matsuda as a cork manufacturer, Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd., which included acquiring Abemaki Tree Cork Company, renaming to Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. in 1927, and commencing vehicle production in 1931.
