Which side of the road do motor vehicles drive on in the United States?

In the United States, just like in China, the driver's position is on the left, and vehicles drive on the right side of the road. Most countries in the world drive on the right side, while relatively fewer countries drive on the left. The earliest cars had the driver's seat positioned in the center of the vehicle. Soon after, some automakers placed the driver's seat on the side closer to the centerline of the road to better observe oncoming traffic, while others positioned it on the side closer to the roadside. Practical experience showed that the former approach was more conducive to road safety, thus becoming the standard for automakers. In our country, pedestrians generally keep to the right, so the steering wheel is naturally on the left, making it easier for drivers to operate the vehicle. Based on the position of the steering wheel, countries can generally be divided into continental and island factions. Most continental countries adopt left-hand driving habits, while island nations prefer right-hand driving. Of course, some African countries like Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, etc., have long colonial histories, so they also have right-hand steering wheels. Sweden in Northern Europe even spent 1.2 billion euros to switch to left-hand driving! Of course, this doesn't just refer to simply driving on the left!
