Which Side is the Brake on an Automatic Transmission?

On an automatic transmission, the left side is the brake, and the right side is the accelerator. There are only two pedals. An automatic transmission eliminates the need for the driver to manually shift gears; instead, the vehicle's computer automatically shifts gears based on road and driving conditions. Automatic transmission cars typically have five gear positions arranged in the following order: P, R, N, D, and S. Car braking techniques: 1. Brake gently to avoid sudden stops, which can cause the vehicle to jerk forward; 2. Brake in advance by maintaining a safe distance from the car ahead and anticipating road conditions; 3. For long downhill braking, use engine braking to assist, as relying solely on the brakes can cause the brake pads to overheat; 4. For braking on curves, slow down before entering the curve, coast through it, and accelerate out of it; 5. On rainy days or gravel roads, use intermittent braking (pump the brakes) to prevent the vehicle from skidding.
