Which is faster, M mode or S mode?

S mode is faster but less comfortable. Here is the relevant introduction: D mode: This is the most widely used forward gear in automatic transmission vehicles. Its main purpose is to allow the transmission's computer and corresponding mechanical structure to automatically select the appropriate gear in real-time while the vehicle is moving forward, eliminating the need for manual shifting. This greatly frees the driver's hands and feet, improving driving convenience, ease, and comfort. S mode: In sport mode, the transmission can shift freely, but the shifting timing is delayed, keeping the engine at high RPMs for a longer time to deliver instant high torque and increase vehicle power. Generally, regular automatic or CVT vehicles maintain RPMs around 2000, while in S mode, the shifting timing is delayed until the engine operates at its best. For vehicles equipped with paddle shifters, the RPMs can even reach the redline zone.
