Which Honda models are equipped with a particulate filter?

All Honda models with TURBO engines are equipped with particulate filters. Function of particulate filters: Particulate filters can reduce soot emissions from diesel engines by over 90%. The captured particulate matter is subsequently burned off during vehicle operation. Principle of particulate filters: Diesel particulate filters are coated with platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The black smoke containing carbon particles emitted by diesel engines enters the particulate filter through a dedicated pipe. After passing through its densely arranged bag-type filter, the carbon particles are adsorbed onto the filter made of metal fiber felt. When the adsorbed particulate matter reaches a certain level, the burner at the end automatically ignites and burns, converting the carbon particles into harmless carbon dioxide that is then discharged.
Recently, while helping a friend look at used cars, I noticed that many Honda models now come equipped with particulate filters. Basically, all models with the 1.5T engine are fitted with them, including SUVs like the CR-V, Breeze, and UR-V. For sedans, the turbocharged versions of the Civic and Accord also come standard with them, though the new Odyssey hybrid doesn’t have one. My hybrid CR-V doesn’t have this either, probably because hybrid emissions already meet standards. Friends driving cars with these filters should be mindful—regular highway driving can help prevent clogging. Avoid frequent short trips, as this can lead to increased fuel consumption, speed limitations, and costly repairs. When buying a used Honda now, remember to check the environmental compliance list—most models meeting China VI-B standards come with this feature.
