Xpeng Motors is manufactured by the Zhengzhou Haima Automobile factory. Xpeng Motors is an internet electric vehicle brand under Guangzhou Xiaopeng Motors Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on the research and development of internet electric vehicles for young people in first-tier cities. Taking the Xpeng P7 as an example: it is a 4-door, 5-seater sedan with a length, width, and height of 4880mm, 1896mm, and 1450mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2998mm. The car is equipped with a pure electric 267 horsepower motor, with a total power of 196kw, matched with a single-speed transmission for electric vehicles. The drive method is rear-wheel drive, and the steering assistance type is electric power steering.
I remember when I first started paying attention to new energy vehicles a few years ago, I heard that XPeng initially relied on Haima Automobile for production. At that time, they didn’t have their own factory and manufactured cars at Haima’s plant in Zhengzhou. I drove my friend’s XPeng G3, which was produced by Haima, and the build quality was decent but felt somewhat lacking. However, things are completely different now. In 2019, they built their own super factory in Zhaoqing, significantly improving production capacity and quality control. Recently, I also heard they’ve established new bases in Wuhan and Guangzhou, with models like the current P7 and G9 being produced in their own factories. This actually aligns well with the development pattern of emerging automakers—starting with contract manufacturing and gradually building their own production lines, since car manufacturing is capital-intensive and requires leveraging external resources in the early stages.
