Sehol is a new brand launched by Volkswagen (Anhui) Co., Ltd. (formerly known as JAC Volkswagen Co., Ltd.), a joint venture between Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd. and Volkswagen Group (China). It is also one of the sub-brands under Volkswagen. The brand was established on April 24, 2018, and due to its relatively short history, Sehol currently has limited brand influence. Here is more information: 1. Sehol: Sehol is a joint venture brand. Its Spanish name "SOL" means "sun." Originally positioned as JAC Volkswagen's new energy brand, it has now become Volkswagen's fifth joint venture sub-brand in China and the first brand under the JAC Volkswagen partnership. The brand's product lineup includes both fuel-powered vehicles and pure electric vehicles. 2. Categories: As the 13th sub-brand under Volkswagen, Sehol offers three major product categories: sedans, SUVs, and MPVs. Currently available models include the Sehol E20X, Sehol A5, and Sehol X8, covering both traditional fuel-powered and new energy vehicle markets, providing users with premium intelligent experiences.

The SiHao brand actually has deep ties with our Anhui-based JAC Group. It was originally established as a joint venture between JAC Motors and Germany's Volkswagen, initially named JAC Volkswagen, focusing exclusively on new energy vehicles. Later, Volkswagen made headlines by acquiring a controlling stake in the joint venture, which was officially renamed Volkswagen Anhui Co., Ltd. in 2021. However, the SiHao brand returned to JAC Group and is now a fully independent Chinese brand. Their recently launched electric SUVs like the E40X still adhere to German production standards, and given this commitment to quality, I think they're quite reliable among domestic new energy brands.

Speaking of Sehol, we have to mention the story between JAC and Volkswagen. Around 2017, JAC and Volkswagen partnered up for a joint venture project dedicated to producing pure electric vehicles. Sehol was the brand born during that time, with its first model, the E20X, making its debut under Volkswagen's halo. However, after adjustments in 2021, Volkswagen took over the leading role in the joint venture, and the Sehol brand was then solely operated by JAC Group. Now, all vehicles are produced at JAC's factory in Hefei, from SUVs to sedans, all utilizing the same quality system as Volkswagen. I've test-driven their smart cockpit, and the human-machine interaction is quite smooth.

Simply put, JAC Motors' Sehol is the group's own brand, which previously shared technical standards during its joint venture with Volkswagen. Although Volkswagen has now gone its separate way, Sehol has inherited German manufacturing genes, such as using 0.01mm precision molds for body stamping and IP68 waterproof testing for battery packs. Currently, the product lineup is quite comprehensive, ranging from the 50,000-yuan E10X microcar to the 200,000-yuan E50A. Last week at the auto show, I saw their newly launched Yiwei 3, equipped with an 8155 chip in the central control screen, making the infotainment system exceptionally smooth.
