4 Series, BMW Z4, and BMW M3. Hardtop convertibles offer superior crash safety and lower cabin noise. BMW 4 Series: Starting from the entry level, you can opt for the 430i equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, with a choice between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, or choose the 440i with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, also available with AWD. BMW Z4: This is BMW's compact sports car, available in both soft-top convertible and hardtop coupe variants. The BMW Z4 takes pride in its automatic folding hardtop design. The Z4 3.0i version comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 2.5i version features a 5-speed manual gearbox. BMW M3: The car is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

I've always had a soft spot for BMW's hardtop convertibles because they're both stylish and practical. Looking back, the E93 generation 3 Series Convertible was a classic, selling like hotcakes from around 2007 to 2013; followed by the F33 generation BMW 4 Series Convertible, which inherited its legacy but with a more modern twist. Then there was the F13 generation BMW 6 Series Convertible, with its sleek lines and top-notch driving experience; later, the G15 generation BMW 8 Series Convertible joined the lineup, offering an ultra-luxurious ride; and finally, the E89 generation BMW Z4, whose hardtop design retracted particularly quickly, making for an exhilarating open-top drive on sunny days. Beyond their cool factor, these cars also provide protection against rain and snow, are more hassle-free than soft tops, and require less maintenance. Drive them long enough, and you'll come to appreciate how BMW's engineering always manages to surprise.

I've driven several hardtop convertibles. I remember trying the E93 3 Series hardtop model when I was younger, and later the 4 Series F33 model was more stable and didn't wobble when driving. The 6 Series F13 had comfortable seats that didn't tire me out on long trips, while the newly launched 8 Series G15 was suitable for both dynamic and relaxed driving. The Z4 E89 was compact and agile, making it easy to navigate through the city. As someone with experience, I find these models practical with roofs that rarely have issues, and maintenance costs are generally low, unlike soft tops which often require fabric roof replacements.

has quite a few hardtop convertible models. The 4 Series and 8 Series are the most stylish, along with the older 3 Series E93 and the Z4 E89 version. Their designs are cool and they're easy to drive, making them perfect for a fun weekend cruise.

When it comes to hardtop convertibles, models include the 3 Series E93, 4 Series F33, 6 Series F13, 8 Series G15, and Z4 E89. When selecting a used one, pay special attention to the roof mechanical structure. The E93 might have more minor issues, but currently, the 4 Series is more popular and newer, making maintenance simpler. If the budget allows, prioritize the newer models.

From a driving perspective, BMW's hardtop convertibles such as the 3 Series E93, 4 Series F33, 6 Series F13, 8 Series G15, and Z4 E89 have all stood the test of the market. Their designs are durable, with excellent roof sealing, ensuring a strong sense of safety even in rain or snow. In the future, more hybrid versions may be worth keeping an eye on.
