Which apps are supported by CarPlay?

CarPlay primarily supports music and podcast apps such as NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, Koala FM, Himalaya FM, KuGou Music, and Xiami Music. CarPlay is an in-car system developed by Apple Inc., which seamlessly integrates users' iOS devices and iOS experience with the dashboard system. If a user's car is equipped with CarPlay, they can connect devices like the iPhone and interact with them using the car's built-in display, control buttons, or Siri Eyes-Free functionality. Although the iPad supports this interface, Apple has not listed the iPad as a hardware device supported by CarPlay.
I often use CarPlay while driving and have found that it supports quite a few apps. For navigation, I commonly use Apple Maps, Amap, Baidu Maps, and Google Maps. For music, I use QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, or Apple Music. Podcast apps include Himalaya and Apple Podcasts. Communication apps like WeChat can handle calls and voice messages, and some even browse Xiaohongshu on the car screen. However, it’s worth noting that car manufacturer certification can affect the list of supported apps—for example, BMW might offer a few more exclusive apps than Toyota. Recently, I’ve also seen some new cars supporting apps like Ele.me for checking gas station discounts, and more local lifestyle apps might be supported in the future.
