The button for the Boyue X dashcam is located on the original rearview mirror, and you can directly open it to view the recordings. Installation method of the dashcam: Attach the dashcam to the rearview mirror, align it with the corresponding interface, and plug in the connecting data cable. Tuck the cable towards the roof lining, route the power cable and GPS cable down the A-pillar, place the GPS in a corner of the dashboard, and install the GPS signal receiver. Alternatively, you can open the right cover of the instrument panel to fix the GPS, then route the power cable along the underside of the glove compartment to the car's power socket and plug in the power. The dashcam installation is then complete. Functions of the dashcam: A dashcam is an instrument that records images, sounds, and related information during vehicle travel. After installation, it can record the entire driving process in video and audio, providing evidence in case of traffic accidents.

I've been driving the Boyue X for a while now, and usually, I check the dashcam footage directly on the car's screen. After turning on the ignition, there's a dashcam icon in the quick menu at the bottom of the central display. Tapping it lets you replay live or saved videos, with options to fast-forward or slow down for details. Operating it while parked is safest to avoid distracted driving. Additionally, after linking with the Geely APP, you can remotely view and download recordings on your phone, which is especially handy for sharing travel clips on the go. Videos are automatically stored on the SD card, with older files overwritten when full, saved in the universal MP4 format compatible with computers. I recommend regularly checking the SD card's capacity to ensure uninterrupted recording. If viewing at night, lower the screen brightness to protect your eyes.

Is the vehicle purchase tax calculated based on the transaction price or the manufacturer's suggested retail price?

Vehicle purchase tax is calculated based on the transaction price. The taxpayers of vehicle purchase tax are entities and individuals who purchase taxable vehicles. The taxable scope includes cars, motorcycles, electric vehicles, trailers, and agricultural transport vehicles, with a tax rate of 10%. The calculation formula for taxable amount is: Taxable amount = Taxable price × Tax rate. Additional information: 1. Vehicle purchase tax is a tax levied on entities and individuals purchasing specified vehicles within China, which evolved from the vehicle purchase surcharge. 2. Calculation methods for other tax rates: (1) Calculation for private vehicles: Price excluding VAT × 10%. The price excludes value-added tax. (2) Calculation for imported vehicles: Taxable price = (Customs duty-paid price + Customs duty) ÷ (1 - Consumption tax rate).

What do the gear shift letters represent?

The meanings represented by the gear shift letters are: 1. P: Parking gear, also the starting position. When the vehicle is parked and not in use, the wheels are mechanically locked to prevent rolling. 2. R: Reverse gear. Used when backing up. 3. N: Neutral gear. Used for temporary parking. Note: This position indicates neutral, and to prevent the vehicle from rolling on a slope, the brake must be engaged. 4. D: Drive gear, also known as the forward gear. This is used when moving forward. 5. L: Low gear. When going downhill or descending a long slope, placing the gear in this position limits the car to the lowest gear automatically, allowing the engine's power to assist in braking during descent. This prevents the danger of brake overheating caused by prolonged braking.

What documents must be obtained when buying a used car?

The documents required for a used car transaction include: original and photocopies of the buyer’s and seller’s ID cards, the vehicle registration certificate, the vehicle license, and the used car transaction invoice. Below are the precautions for purchasing a used car: Pay attention to the car’s performance: Avoid buying a car with poor performance. When selecting a used car, pay attention to knocking on the body to check if the sound is normal, and start the car to listen if the engine sound is normal. Check the chassis and frame: Do not purchase if deformation is found. After an accident, even if the car’s exterior is well-repaired, its frame and chassis are difficult to restore, indicating it might be an accident vehicle. Inspect the appearance: Observe whether all corners and parts of the car have been repainted. Some used cars have been in accidents, and to increase their value, dealers may refurbish and repaint them to make them look newer. Also, check if the tires, headlights, and bumpers show signs of wear. Ensure the purchase procedures are complete: Documentation is crucial when buying a used car. Generally, it includes the registration certificate, vehicle license, purchase tax, and other fees to prove the car has complete procedures and is not a problematic vehicle. Always test-drive before buying: Whether buying a new or used car, a test drive is essential. Only through a test drive can you determine if the car suits you and identify any issues during the process.

How to Identify a Car's Model Version?

It depends on the specific configuration, as some features are added later. To determine the year and model of a vehicle, the following methods can be used: Check the VIN code. The VIN code consists of 17 characters, hence commonly referred to as the 17-digit code. It contains information about the vehicle's manufacturer, year, model, body type and code, engine code, and assembly location. Correctly interpreting the VIN code is crucial for accurately identifying the vehicle model and ensuring proper diagnosis and maintenance. To find the VIN code, look for the 17-digit VIN number on the windshield at the front of the car. The 10th digit represents the production year. Look for the body nameplate, usually located on the inside of the door. Check the vehicle's certificate of conformity or compliance certificate. It's impossible to distinguish between two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) systems based on the vehicle's exterior appearance alone. The chassis structure differs between 2WD and 4WD vehicles, but their exterior designs are identical, with no other visible differences. Four-wheel drive vehicles offer greater stability while driving and better off-road performance on unpaved surfaces. A 4WD vehicle features a differential system that distributes engine power to all four wheels, allowing each wheel to provide traction. In contrast, in a standard 2WD vehicle, if one wheel loses traction, the other wheels may also lose power, rendering the vehicle immobile. However, in a 4WD vehicle, the remaining wheels can still provide traction in such situations.

What Causes Wear on Both Sides of the Tire but Not in the Middle?

Tire wear on both sides but not in the middle is caused by insufficient inflation or prolonged overloading. The increased contact area of the tire crown and the bulging of the tire shoulders cause the shoulders to bear more weight, leading to accelerated wear. This is due to the tire sides bulging outward and rubbing against each other because of low pressure or overloading. Solution: Adjust the tire pressure to the normal range and avoid overloading. Impact of Tire Wear on Vehicles: Tire wear causes the tread pattern to become shallower. On dry roads, traction is not affected, and when the tread is completely worn, traction may even improve because the tire's contact area increases. However, on wet or snowy roads, traction significantly decreases because the tread pattern's function is to expel water between the tire and the road—this is also why tread patterns are directional. Shallower treads reduce drainage performance, preventing water from being quickly expelled, leading to wheel slippage and potential loss of vehicle control. Additionally, uneven wear from worn tires can cause vehicle vibration, steering drift, braking drift, and skidding. Tire Maintenance: Regularly monitor tire pressure, as it is critical to tire health—both overinflation and underinflation can severely impact tires. Perform wheel alignment periodically, as proper alignment significantly reduces abnormal tire wear. Adopt good driving habits, which not only extend tire lifespan but also ensure driving safety.
