For small cars, the ETC device is generally installed in the upper-middle part of the front windshield, while for large vehicles like trucks and buses, it is installed in the lower-middle part. The suitable installation position should be no lower than 1.2 meters and no higher than 2.5 meters, with an installation angle between 30 to 90 degrees. If the vehicle has or will have an anti-explosion film, which may affect the signal transmission of the microwave communication link, the device should be installed in the microwave sunroof strip. ETC stands for Electronic-Toll-Collection, meaning electronic toll collection system. To apply for ETC, the vehicle owner needs to provide original and photocopies of their valid ID card and vehicle registration certificate. If the application is handled by a non-owner, the agent's valid ID card is also required. The photocopy of the vehicle registration certificate should include the page with the most recent annual inspection stamp. Additionally, a bank card for deducting highway tolls is required, and the vehicle must be registered under the name of an individual aged between 18 and 60. Here are some precautions for ETC installation: Do not obstruct the view; it is best to install it behind the rearview mirror: Many car models have windshields with a large rearward tilt angle, which can reduce the driver's field of vision. If this is not considered during ETC installation, it may increase the driver's blind spots. Installing it behind the rearview mirror on the right side can help avoid obstructing the view. Do not interfere with charging: The ETC electronic tag consumes power but generally does not require charging or battery replacement, as it has a built-in solar panel on the back for self-charging. Therefore, during installation, avoid the blackened areas on the windshield and positions that may block the solar panel. Do not remove the device once installed: The adhesive in the middle has an anti-tamper rod connected to a switch. After installation, the windshield will press the anti-tamper rod in. If the device is removed, the rod will pop out and trigger the switch, locking the electronic tag and rendering it unusable. In such cases, you will need to visit an ETC service point to unlock it. This feature is designed to prevent multiple vehicles from sharing one device. When using ETC, note the following: The ETC transaction sensing range is 8 meters. To prevent issues caused by the ETC device of the vehicle in front, maintain a distance of at least 10 meters to avoid automatic toll deduction for the preceding vehicle. The ETC lane recognition speed is 20 km/h; exceeding this speed may result in failed toll deduction due to inability to read the vehicle's device information. If using a debit card linked to ETC, insufficient balance may also cause toll deduction failure.

To check the tire wear indicator triangle: 1. Locate the small triangular arrow mark on the side tread pattern of the tire; 2. Follow the mark to find the raised indicator in the groove of the tire tread; 3. When the tread depth is lower than the wear indicator, it means the tire is nearing the end of its life. Tire maintenance methods: 1. Ensure correct tire pressure; 2. Regularly check for bulges, cracks, cuts, punctures, or abnormal wear; 3. Inspect the tire surface for stones, nails, or other hard objects and clean them promptly; 4. Perform tire rotation. Tire rotation methods: 1. For bias-ply tires, swap the tires on the same axle to ensure even wear on both sides; 2. For radial tires, rotate them within the same side of the vehicle.

Is Replacing the Handbrake Cable Quick?

Replacing the handbrake cable is quick. The handbrake cable is a component found in cars equipped with mechanical handbrakes. The mechanical handbrake has a handbrake lever behind the gear shift, and this lever is connected to the cable. Symptoms of a handbrake cable not retracting: Pull the handbrake and then release it to see if the wheels turn freely. If they don't, it indicates that the cable is not retracting. Brake system: The brake system consists of a master cylinder and wheel cylinders. Simply put, the master cylinder stores brake fluid and has inlet and outlet ports. When the brake pedal is pressed, the brake fluid in the master cylinder flows through the pipes to the wheel cylinders. When the wheel cylinders are pressurized, they push the brake pads against the brake drums, achieving braking.
